Present day academia attempt to explain "magic" as something that happens that has no explanation. Dictionaries define "magic" as "supernatural power over natural forces."
However, "magic" may have meant "power" with the connotation of something being "majestic in power", such as a "majesty" or "magus". Magus indicates a hereditary "priestly" or "princely" class.<ref>Merriam-Webster, Magus</ref>
