Etymology[]
"Acart" is the root word of the Portuguese expression 'Acarta', literally "the letter". The word is a paronomasia for "message". Artur Berlet's written works were published in English in 1987 by Wendelle C Stevens, in Florence, Arizona, USA, distributed by UFO Books, titled "UFO contact from planet Acart".<ref name=Stevens>Berlet, Artur. In 1996, Berlet's book was translated into Polish by Mirosław Kościuk, titled "UFO z planety Akart : z utopii do rzeczywistości".<ref>(Polish) UFO z planety Akart : z utopii do rzeczywistości (1996)</ref> The year 1996 was a pivotal year for Brazil when the Varginha encounters were happening in Minas Gerais. The UFO events led to the formation of Brazilian Intelligence Agency on December 7, 1999,<ref>Wikipedia, Brazilian Intelligence Agency</ref> upon the death of Brazilian soldier Marco Eli Cherese during that time.
The word "Acart", or "Akart", appears in UFO research pertaining to Artur Berlet's abduction case. UFO researchers identify the beings from Acart as "Acartians" or "Akartians".<ref name=Brenne/>
Agartha[]
The message of Acart is "Agartha". Agartha comes from the word Agarthi, known by Theosophists as a vast complex of subterranean caverns in a world within the Earth.<ref>Wikipedia, Agartha</ref> The concept was popularized in the works of Jules Verne's, Journey to the Center of the Earth, first published in 1864.<ref>Wikipedia, Journey to the Center of the Earth</ref>
When UFO researchers asked what the people of Acart were like, the "Acartians", Berlet said, "much like us, only more pallid. All I saw had hair color of straw, but a few had dark hair. Median stature greater than ours. They talked in a German tongue."<ref name=Brenne/>
Pallid, to be pale. Straw colored hair, to be blonde. Median stature greater, to be tall in height above six foot high (See Supermen).
While in the world of Acart, Berlet made the following observation, "…I only saw vehicles on wheels on a farm and a kind of train - and this was subterran, automatic- without conductor."<ref name=Brenne/>

The world of Acart and the Acartians may be synonymous with the Jötunn in Norse mythology, a race of superhuman beings. Their homeland is Jötunheimr, separated from Miðgarðr, the world of humans. Jötunn are associated with other place names including Niflheimr, Útgarðr and Járnviðr. In some legends and myths they are described as either being the same height as humans, or larger. The Jötunn were known for menacing humans in Midgard<ref>https://mythology.wikia.org/wiki/Jötunn</ref> (such as committing abductions).
